Increasingly, there is a trend overseas to automate machines as much as is practical. This is not only due to the rising cost of labour, but it also an attempt to fully utilise the incredible speed of new generation punching machines. Often the limiting factor in production is the speed at which parts can be loaded and unloaded.
The Trumatic TC 5000R FMC (flexible machining centre) is a sheet processing system comprising modules that have the TC 5000R punching machine at their core. Connected to this machine, Vera Cruz has the TrumaLift SheetMaster 1605. This module allows automated loading of sheets from a loading bay, as well as the removal of larger completed components. Automated removal and sorting of smaller components is accomplished using the Trumasort R4. Here parts smaller than 500 x 500 mm are sent into one of four programmable bins via the chute. After punching, leftover skeletons are automatically removed using the Trumagrip.
With this level of automation it is possible to run unmanned shifts, thus using the machine's capabilities optimally. We regard our Trumatic TC 5000R FMC as the 'engine' of our factory.
